ABOUT

Lewis (CanCuT) Gittus is a Melbourne-based composer, artist, and sound designer whose practice spans pop music, immersive installation, video, and text. Gittus has previously exhibited at Project8 (Music as Image, 2022), McClelland Sculpture Park (Estuaries, 2021), Tributary Projects (Collapse, 2021), and BUS Projects (Labyrinth, 2021). As a sound designer, Lewis has been commissioned to compose accompanying audio for video, VR environments (Gilded Dimension, Miller Design Lab 2019), experimental games (Mood Machine, Standard Vision HQ), and contemporary dance films (TWWOF, BUS Projects, 2020). As a composer and recording artist, Lewis has released more than one hundred works on record labels worldwide - including Universal, NLV, Mad Decent, and Secret Songs - toured internationally, and produced music for pop artists including Jennifer Lopez, Tkay Maidza, Haiku Hands, and Tigarah. He is currently undertaking a PhD at the Victorian College of the Arts, University of Melbourne.
